My spare Meta Alarm Fob for my '98 Griffith has broken. Appears the top of the micro-switch is missing so does work but needs a nail to activate.

Plan A was Carl Baker but he appears to have moved & no reply (so far) to eMail.

I need a plan B. a> can these fobs still be purchased & sync'd with my alarm by me ?
b> figure out how to fix the broken micro switch ?
c> know any breakers who would sell spare fobs ?
d> anyone got a fob they dont need ?

...... oh, and I'm living in Madrid so cant get the car + keys to a UK dealer ! Any thoughts please ??

Thanks for the ideas & Argent for the offer of a spare case.
If I could get a complete fob I may be able to swap the microswitch. May also look for breakers.
Anyone recommend a good scrappy ? (used to love visiting a good scrap yard when I was young & keeping a Marina Van going !)

Hi there, if it's just the microswitch inside the fob you could try looking on the RS (Radio Spares of old) and Farnell websites:
http://uk.rs-online.com/web/?cm_mmc=UK-PPC-0212-_-...

http://uk.farnell.com/?CMP=KNC-GUK-FUK-GEN-PFB&amp...

The small PCB is removable and if microswitch available (or similar as long as pin outs the same), you can replace it. All the best, Pete

I used this company recently and there service is excellent.
If you remove the main control box of your alarm[which is quite easy] and send it off to them they can reprogram it and supply 2 brand new alarm fobs, a new alarm code[will explain this later] and post it return the same day, all for approx £100.
The new alarm code is invaluable as anytime in the future you require a new key fob, you can phone them and quote the alarm code number, and they can send out a new fob straight away.
