I want to check if the control for switching airflow between fresh air and cabin is functioning. Turning the knob does not apear to make any difference and I can't hear any motors turning. Before I start stripping out unnecessary bits can some one please tell me where the motor and flap are located and how I get to it?

It's a 96 serpentine.

Many thanks

If you can't hear a whirring sound then the motor is not working. In fact you should be able to hear all four motors respond to movement of the knobs.

This pic. may help, the flap in the bottom left corner of the footwell (beside the battery)will be seen to move when all is working correctly.
