Hi Guys,

All been a bit quiet for me recently but I do have something I need to fix before I really start enjoying her again this season...my brakes have started vibrating really badly, I suspect that I must have warped discs.

So.....what are the best replacements, I am not after anything fancy but want to make sure that I am putting decent parts on. Is there anything that I need to look out for or is it as simple as taking the caliper off and unbolting the discs?

Thanks in advance and bring on the 20degree weather they are promising for Sunday ;-)

Cheers Ian, is it really worth double the price for grooved?

D150 = £82.99
GD150 (grooved) = £167.13!

Christ they have gone up.
In 2010 I aid £99 for GD150

I don't know how they compare Mark, I've only used GDs

Your disks may be warped but more likely the two halves have separated due to corrosion. Very common especially with cars laid up over winter.

It could be you've got a sticky piston or something, so I'd get the rotors off and check things out
You can get the rotors skimmed - or at least checked to make sure they are warped before you chuck £150 at them.
I'd get that done first Mark.

Yes, it is as simple as calliper off and the rotor just lifts off. They are ford hubs so you'll know what you are doing.
You'll need a big allen key for the calliper bolts and threadlock for when you put it back together.
You might also need to take a hammer to that allen key, they can be a bugger to 'crack'
And have something handy to hang the calliper on the wishbone with or you'll risk damaging the brake lines, though I'd put money on you having braided on there so it shouldn't be a big worry.
