Hi guys, need a list of things to check? I've recently have been getting the occasional whiff of fuel. Have noticed it once or twice at start up and then when poodling along but not when pushing the car.
When cars stationary and with my nose under the bonnet and even raving it I can't reproduce it! So any suggestions where I start?

REPLACE THE FLEXIBLE FUEL HOSES BEFORE YOU NEXT START THE CAR, ALL OF THEM.
Sorry for shouting, but unless you know they've been replaced recently chances are the pipes between the bulkhead and the engine are perished because they are a sod to replace. They should be replaced fairly frequently as a precautionary measure
Quite a few cars have been lost because of these pipes....

Had the same problem a year ago, when idling or at very low revs.
The return hose at the back of the fuel rail, between cylinder head and bullhead was shot and p_ssing out fuel at low revs. A very scary moment as fuel was dripping on the hot exhaust!!! When switched off or at high revs there was no obvious sign of a leak, so they need a thorough inspection.
AS BO SAID CHECK ALL FUEL HOSES BEFORE YOU FIRE HER UP.
