Hello all,

Posted before that I was doing my brakes, but still can't find a good source. I am hoping to go grooved and drilled (I know, debates on that one - but they are cool looking, and are a reversible mod for originality).

I have a 1994 500, so I do have the 260mm up front. Problem I have hit at present is when I look at the EBC discs for the front I get two different models as follows...

EBC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GD150 specs
Diameter: 260mm
Height: 53mm
Thickness New/Min: 24/22
Vented
4 Bolts/Holes
GD215 specs
Diameter: 260mm
Height: 58mm
Thickness New/Min: 24/22
Vented
4 Bolts/Holes
Did they use two different types of 260mm discs?
The rears appear easier, as for EBC I have only found the following....
R: GD558
~~~~~~~~
558 Specs
Diameter: 273mm
Height: 43mm
Thickness New/Min: 20/18
Vented
4 Bolts/Holes

Can't affort to trial and error, returning if they are wrong. The shiping alone is 250 pounds sterling to Canada!

Cheers.

The fronts are GD150

I converted my pre-cat to the later 500 spec calipers, rotors and pads and have EBC GD150 on mine.
The rears I can't help with I'm afraid. Mine are stock and I like the balance as it is.

I believe he discs used are from the UK (European)Ford range (Sierra ??) I’d personally be tempted to up rate to 500 spec as mentioned above, but if you want to stay original then simply measure your discs and make your choice based on that, there’s only 5mm difference in height between the GD150 and GD215 specs the PCD will be the same and you may find you can fit either by adding or removing a 5mm calliper spacer. And I know they look cool but I wouldn’t fit drilled discs, grooved OK but not drilled the dimpled ones are OK to and give the look of drilled without the potential issues

Thanks.

Mine is a 500, so already have the larger disc. Thanks for the guidance, and I have heard stories of cracks on drilled discs - probably right - dimples if I want that look, or grooves only.

The rears seem available here, as they were used on the car marketed as a Merkur XR4Ti over here. Their fronts are my rears. My fronts seem to be Euro-Ford and not used here at all, so not stocked either.

Cheers,

Rob.
