I'm in something of a dilemma. I've got my new Griff locked away safely in my garage at home. The problem is, my wife needs to mow the lawn once a week and she has asked me for permission to move my car to enable her to get the lawnmower. My question is this: Is a female capable of moving a TVR Griff without causing it (or her) any damage?
I think you should be very careful what you say on this subject!!!!!!
There are quite a few Griff and Chim 500 lady drivers and lo and behold some are actual owners.
Of course if your wife has a driving licence and she is made aware of the idiosyncracies (not in a patronising manner please) of the car then she will be perfectly capable of moving and even driving the car on or off the road. Size and strength have nothing to do with driving, it is ability.
I do wish people would lose this attitude of women drivers having a problem with these cars.
There are just as many numpty male drivers out there as female.

Quite easy.
1) Open garage door.
2) Start TVR.
3) Depress clutch
4) Select first or reverse gear, depending on orientation of car relative to garage door.
5) Gently ease back clutch pedal back to its original position whilst keeping footl ightly on throttle pedal to ensure engine doesn't stall.
6) Drive out of garage.
7) Depress clutch again, select neutral. Engage handbrake and shut off engine.
8) Extract lawnmower from garage.
Re-installation of lawnmower and TVR (in that order) is the reverse sequence.
Neither the garage nor the TVR and lawnmower care about the sex of the operator performing above act.
(You weren't really suggesting your wife pushes the car in and out of the garage when its in perfect working order, right?)

They don't all have dodgy handbrakes - mine was okay.
Why don't you just tell her to leave it in gear when she parks it, and remember to take it out of gear before she starts it up??

… and it wouldn't surprise me if they were better drivers than some of the blokes on this forum…
FFS, we are talking about someone who is a responsible adult, knows how you feel about the car etc etc… just let her move it. She'll be more worried about damaging the car than you will...

How did you manage when you bought your Griff ? (what's that, about 3 months ago?

Because as far as I can tell, that would be the only way being a bloke would make you better at it. But then, perhaps your Mrs is a bit of an idiot - how does she manage to work the lawnmower, with all that pressing the throttle and turning corners at the same time
? Actually you're right, best to get a gardener - much better to let a bloke you've never met before move your car to get the lawnmower out than the woman you chose to spend your life with

No, absolutely not. Too many pedals and switches at once.. And as for the gearstick and clutch.. I mean I know about multitasking, but sheeesh.. Won't someone please think of the clutch plate?

Case in point. Within an hour of getting into Rude Girl's immaculate Griff 500 I found myself in the pasenger seat sliding backwards through a wet Bolton car park towards a bollard. Its not for nothing that I keep a Yorkie bar in the glove box of my TVR..
