Bank holiday clutch problems
Discussion
Went for a nice blast today in the sun then I noticed how there seemed to be lots of slack in the clutch pedal. It would flop around the first half distance of the travel before meeting any resistance. It was also noticeably harder to get into gear.
Nursed the car home and took the master cylinder out (what a fun job that is on your own! Good work TVR for using nuts and bolts and not captive ones!)
Once I stripped it down was met with this:

The spring has sheared in various places which is why the pedal wouldn't return to it full height and I wasn't getting a full stoke of the cylinder thus why it was hard to get into gear.
Now you can't seem to buy the spring on its own so I was wondering if anyone on here has an old master cylinder sat about that they don't need? Doesn't matter if the bore is shot as mine is good I just need the spring and the piston bit really which I will replace the seals on before fitting.
Help please dont't want to have to buy a complete new master cylinder!

Hi Russell, Can you wait a couple of days mate? I have a multitude of old clutch & brake master cylinders in the loft of my workshop (ex Triumph & Land Rover bits), which may have useful springs! I shall send you a message. All the best, Pete
