Help with Gemini? Alarm
Discussion
Guys,
My alarm is locking the car but activating 20 seconds later.
The door pins are ok because the interior light is operating normally for both doors.
I've disconnected the siren under the bonner - dated July 2003 btw - and it hasnt altered anything
I found and disconnected the Gemini 1059 proximity sensor but again, this hasn't changed anything.
I've also disconnected the battery for about an hour and still no luck.
I can feel the cables from the proximity sensor going under the dash but that's all.
Is there a 'brain' tucked somewhere?
I've never come across it but there has to be one somewhere. Would someone be kind enough to email me what I might be looking for and where it is.
And if having the dash out might be the cause. I had this out most of the winter so I wonder if I upset something.
Oh, sorry. 1992 pre cat, so I think we can rule out the Meta stuff as the bible says this only came into being from 1996 onwards.
Tks

I've found the brain and it seems I have a Selca fm7 unit not a Gemini.
Has anyone bought the Selca replacement from abacus car alarms and is it any use?
Also, does this replacement conform to any Thatcham Raring?
This unit is what I'm talking about. The HPA M03 is a Meta unit as far as I can tell after a quick search.

Fitted in less than an hour straight out of the box.
It comes with great instructions complete with photos and everything you might need including cable ties and insulating tape.
There is a 24 pin connector I have to find space for in the dash, because the new brains fly lead plugs into the old cable but I don't think it will be a problem.
I tested it with the proximity sensor and that's fine and it comes with a new siren which you plug into the old cable. Simples.
All in all, it's money well spent IMHO

Hi Barreti, I am interested in your thread on the alarm replacement. I have what I believe is a Gemini alarm, at least that is what is on the fob! Did your old fobs have Gemini on them and were they the one button type? If so what you have done could be the answer for my Griff. Hi Pete,My fobs say Selca, it was the proximity sensor which said Gemini and made me think I might have a Gemini system with reprogrammed fobs. Turns out it was a Selca FM7.11 though.
