Right,
I've only got 33 booked for the BBQ which is really poor as we had over 70 booked 2 weeks before the event last year so either people haven't booked yet or its going to be a bit cosier this year.
I know there are 32 rooms on the Saturday booked against the Growl and 54 people in the rooms so that means 21 people aren't BBQ'ing which is a vey high %age with limited foord options available locally.
Now I need to canvas opinion - should I proceed with the BBQ or should I cancel and just order off the menu?
There will be some book on the day but I have to confirm numbers on Wednesday this week so I'm obviously not going to book it for 100 people otherwise its me who has to make up the shortfall.
Curry wise we've almost broke even with the coach costs so may need to ask for another pound each on the night.

Come on guys give Paul some support here! He has gone to the trouble of organising the Growl yet again, for ALL our benefits so the least you can do is support the BBQ on Saturday night. It was my first Growl last year and I enjoyed it very much (hence booked early this year). So all you guys who are staying on the saturday night, book up with Paul for the BBQ. Pete shoot

Paul you shouldn't be out of pocket but it would be a shame if you had to cancel the BBQ so why not just ask people who are already booked to make up the shortfall if its needed. I would be happy to pay extra if it means keeping things going and I'm sure most others would be as well.

Put me down for 2.

I have been a complete knob and forgot all about this (work has been mental the last couple of months). Just sorted a babysitter for the sat night, called the hotel for a room (need to call back in the morning as all £70 rooms are booked) and I've fixed my car. So all set...once I get a hotel room booked in the morning.

Do I need to send you some cash?

Tim,
I'll put you down for the BBQ but send me an e-mail please. Quote Griff Growl and you should get the £70 rooms - speak to Nicola Moseley in the conference team . If not let me know - email ideally or call me. You could always stop both nights?

Sorry, clashes with long standing reunion this year. I'll be there Saturday daytime but must be back to Bristol for the evening. Best of luck.

Will do thanks. I would love to stop both nights but the babysitter (mom) wouldn't be too happy. Hmm, maybe I could come down on the first night and get the other babysitter (wife) to cover the Friday...

Room booked - it is worth calling the conference team as they are still doing the £70 rate. If you go through to the bedroom/booking team it is £120!

See you all there.

Just my 2p worth. Curry night is great but the BBQ is the high light of the weekend. Come on guys, get booking if you haven't already. You can't miss some great banter, great beer, lots of meat, great company and especially a loud angry Scot with 48hrs of alcohol abuse behind him for entertainment !!

Agree 100% with Mojo on this.

If you divvnae book, I will know who you are. I don't know why you wont book. If you're looking for a quiet night, I can tell you, I don't have that ability but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career of drink and loudness. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you book right now, that will be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will, along with my partner Rosie, make sure you have a lousy nights sleep for at least a week!!!
