I am currently in communication with a guy called Ben Lang of Blackdown Automotive, in respect of new springs and shocks. He used to be a TVR suspension engineer and has developed along with Bilstein shock absorbers for the TVR range including the Griff. What he has quoted so far for the supply of the newly developed Bilsteins and matching Eibach springs and bushes is very reasonable. Will keep you posted.
Find a couple of pics below from his website:

I bought a full set from him for my Griff as didn't want to go after-market. Very helpful and knowledgeable.

Were you pleased with them? Also did they improve your handling over the standard? Rgds, Pete

Yes, totally happy with the result. My old shockers were still doing the job after 14 years but had become rather noisey at slow speeds on bumpy surfaces. That problem is now totally sorted.

As for ride and handling, the car now feels like a new Griff as you'd expect, no better, no worse. So if you think that is a good thing, and I happen to think the Griff 500 was set up pretty well in the first place for road use, then you will be happy.

Excellent, sounds just what I am after. Many thanks Englishmen. By the way, are you at the Growl? If so I could look at your setup. All the best, Pete

Do you mind me asking how much he wants for the full set?

I'm about to do the same with mine as I want it to stay original(ish - mine is a pre-cat with a factory Bilstein/roll-bar conversion) but I was told you can send the shocks back to Bilstein and have them serviced/reconditioned for £80+VAT per corner.

He quoted £837.78 including VAT and Delivery. The package includes 4 shocks, springs and bushes. Regards, Pete

Well, not booked in to anything, but given the weather is looking so good and Ettington is only 70 miles away, I'm tempted! What day(s)/times will you be around?

PeteGriff. Did you follow up on this one? Other posts seem favourable towards
this deal. Have you gone for it and if so your thoughts? Would defo consider
this option myself as existing shocks/springs prob original and a little tired.

Hi CD3, I am definitely going for this deal, have spoken at length again with Ben at Blackdown, and feel the Bilstein/Eibach setup is for my Griff. Am aiming for the end of this month so will keep you posted. All the best, Pete

Just thought I'd resurrect this old thread just to say that I bought these from Ben Lang, and he's a top chap to deal with....

Now I just need some advice off Daz, cos I'm not sure if the red pair go on the nearside F&R and the yellows to the offside......
Or is it the other way aroundscratchchinhehe

Very nice Andy and i fully understand why you have gone for these standard quality shocks.

On the flip side; in true TVR fashion my body does not sit quite level on the chassis, as many dont, and so my adjustable Protechs allowed me to easily adjust things level.

Cheers mate.... smile yep they'll suit me just fine....I only pootle around now days, so don't need anything special...

Regarding yours....is it not more important that the chassis is level?? Rather than the body on the chassis..

I hope so, but to be fair, it isn't that bad with the old shocks, in fact I'd say its pretty good...... Steve obviously went for a good set up, but preferred a car thats more focused on fast Road, & track use than my tastes.... I prefer a little more compliance and overall softer feel..... It's called getting oldfrown

But I can't find out yet..... Wheels are at The Wheel Specialists getting powder coated....Gunmetalcool

Should be ready tomorrowyes can't wait to see how they look..

Was it easy to change the shocks out?

I am planning to do this at the end of the year.

Thanks
