Just checking this is (or isn't) normal - my Griff 500 is leaving what I assume to be light carbon deposits from each exhaust on the garage floor.
Any engineer types out there clarify this for me? It's not moist at all, like specks of coal.

Specks - you're lucky. I get 2 full fat black bin liner marks out the back - had to put some paper behind the exhaust to reduce the markings on the wall. It is a pre cat though which tend to overfuel as standard.
I suspect this is normal. Check your plugs and that should give a good indication how its running. Mine were black - just changed them.

Thanks FFG - as a complete mechanical novice it's useful to know. Trying to keep stupid questions to a minimum!

Comes from carbon deposits blown out with damp in the exhaust system..

Start it up while someone in white jeans is behind you.
Hilarity ensues. Mostly, unless you're wearing white jeans, standing behind at the time.
