Afternoon all,

I've noticed a hissing noise coming from the driver footwell area that stops when I press the brake pedal. I haven't noticed any difference in the brakes.

Any ideas?

That is my suspicion. It seems that the servo (ford fiesta mk3) went out of production in 2011 and is now quite expensive. I wonder if it is possible to replace the seal.

I couldn't find one anywhere when I looked recently (many of the parts suppliers still list them but don't have any stock).

I sent my to J&L Spares to be reconditioned - seems a decent job (although it's a bit of a black box) and is back in the car working fine now.

Hi Matt

A leaking survo chamber does sound logical but it also could be the vacuum pipe that attaches to the servo housing, worth checking that first. Also, I believe the early Ford KA used the same servo unit, but may have slightly different mountings that can be modified. Just Google Fiesta Mk3 servo unit, there are loads of aftermarket supplier who will do them at not too extortionate prices. regards, Pete
