It also has to be very drivable and reliable on road, what would it cost?

My first thoughts would be a je engine and big bucks.

Thanks

70 shot of nitrous oxide wink
A £1000 would get you all you need for a reliable kit.

Supercharger or turbo by far the cheapest option by some tune and you will get more than your 370bhp and be very driveable.

Last RR beastie was just over 360bhp and 353ftlb, close to what you're looking for. Just finalising induction set-up, then proper remap and expecting nearer 370 than 360 when mapped (given recent mods). Engine build spec is in my profile. pm me if you want more info....

And you'd be correct smile

Soft limiter is 6500rpm and hard limiter is at 6700rpm. Mine was built two years ago and I know that the cost of parts has gone up quite a bit since then. Give Rob at V8D a call to discuss what you're looking for I'm sure he'd give you a ball park figure smile

SC or turbo is a far less expensive route if you bolt them straight onto a standard lump...

A driveable 370bhp should be relatively easy to get, you just build a lumpy 350bhp engine on a plenum and then bolt throttle bodies to it. Graham Walden runs just such an engine in his Tuscan race car based around a std tvr 5 litre bottom end. But when you consider that you've got 6 grand tied up in just the throttle bodies and engine management system things do get rather expensive rather quickly.

Is it relatively simple to fit a supercharger?
I had a supercharged Range Rover Sport a few years ago and it was very smooth whilst being very fast. Since then I have always liked the idea of another supercharged car. Much better than a turbo IMHO.

I am sure when I had my TVR S4c I read a post from someone had bolted a supercharger to a 2.9 V6 model.

You'd need the 4.5 to get 350lb.ft
I've just mapped a 4.3 and it made around 335lb.ft but even then it doesn't break 300lb.ft until near enough 4k revs. Even the larger speed 6 engines aren't exactly great low down. Depends if you want a revver or not though I guess .. the 4.3 was sweet as anything right round to 7k.

NA scratchchin gonna cost you loads for anything over 350bhp and driveaility on roads will always be compromised with a NA setup...similar money will get you 400-450 bhp and drivabillety on roads...oh,
it needs to be FI tho. If you want the best of both worlds, mild pusseycat in traffic and full on nascar on the open roads cool
But forget about the £2.5K bs spouted on PH, no matter which route you take budget for a minumum of £6K for totally basic setup (mapped) to achieve north of 350bhp, and more likely £10-£14k for something you will engoy driving. if i told you how much i spent on mine it would make you eyes water.

As for Dereks nos, well...it would take you longer to smoke a roll up than waste a bottle of laughing gas. just kidding Derek wink, but you are a little limited on useage unless you have a VERY big bottle smile

E.T.A. its all the additional items required to make the engine breath better and spool up more quickly to achieve a smooth performance that all start adding up real quick! if you are not careful and do your research well.

Are you allowed to show the RR graph?
