If you have a completely original BV with all the papers and you respray it, IMHO, you will detract some where between 50 and a 100% of the cost of the respray, rather than adding value.

I have had 2 green factory 4.3BVs including the current one boxedingetmecoat

Abit of a harsh statement i must admit, but the green cars dont sell well,as the common view is they are bad luck

Ah yes, I have heard this wives tale before about green being unlucky. However my Griff, which I've had from new, has been wonderful and it's not killed me yet! hehe

It does seem stupid to judge a car based on the colour, but if you think about it you can see where the old wives tale comes from.

Green car, green verges, green hedges, green tree line + idiot who doesn't look properly before pulling out of a junction
= driving...eek...argue...punch...driving

Green cars bad luck? I have never heard this one before.
Why would green cars be bad luck? I had a green S4 for years and it was great.

I bet all those E type owners with original series one, flat floor cars in the original British Racing Green are thinking, if only I could respray this blue, black or yellow, I don't want it going up another £50k in value.

So Black ones are very unlucky between the hours of darkness, yellow ones at sun set and blue ones are lethal in the rain especially when there are dark thunder clouds...........rolleyes

I wish I hadn't started this thread now, although, if I see a prospective buyer hopping along the pavement, making sure that he doesn't step on any cracks, at least I know that he will be the Muppet who is worried about the car being camouflaged against grass verges and I can pretend that it has already been sold biglaugh

So you're the chap selling it. Have you put it in the Pistonheads classifieds?

Oh dear, oh dear, too late now. You have clearly validated Mr GasMonkey's extensive and indeed conclusive empirical research which found that all green cars are unlucky because they blend into the grass. Be prepared to incur the wrath of millions of Jaguar, MG, Triumph and indeed TVR owners, with green cars, as they pursue you for diminution in value claims type here comes the first one....

No, no this is my 4.3BV below, I was just pointing out that the one on ebay looked very original for someone. They don't come up very often........ obviously I wasn't aware of the invisibility cloak spell that green ones have which makes other drivers crash into them tumbleweed
