Cover sets off alarm.

Morning all,

I bought a cover for the Griff and the wind keeps triggering the alarm. From searching previous posts i think the system is a Meta 99 as the 'art deco diamond' logo sounds familiar and others have mentioned that they go off when an ant farts on the windscreen.

I've tried laying a towel between the cover and the windscreen then tightening the cover down with additional elastic straps, although its helped its not sorted.

Previous posts have said that the alarm sensitivity can be changed by something located on the transmission tunel or behind the glove box. Anyone got any more directions and what am i looking for??

Alternatively is there a way to lock the doors without setting the alarm (assuming that the immobilisor will still be set)?

If you hold down the button for 5 seconds when locking the doors, the indicators flash differently and the microwave sensor is turned off.

The microwave sensor is under the transmission tunnel cover, usually floating around on the top of the transmission tunnel. There's a simple adjustment on the box.

Details on how to remove the transmission tunnel are in the bible (it's not as easy as you might think).

if you take off the centre tunnel it will be fairly obvious. Its basically a knob that you turn one way or the other to adjust sensitivity

Thanks. Although the manual says nothing about locking the doors without setting the sensor, only mentions the panic alarm facility, it seemed to work last night. But I'll also take off the tunel cover and see if changing the sensitivity means i can set the alarm.
