Stereo and CD changer
Discussion
In the process of changing the stereo.....
The Pioneer multichanger behind the passenger seat has always made whirring and clicking noises but is not connected to the existing(broken)stereo so I've unplugged it.
I thought the multichanger would be connected to the stereo but it's not. There is more than a metre of it's cable behind the dash with no end to be seen, just a loop!?
Anyone know what it's supposed to be connected to? It's powered form somewhere............
BTW the wiring behind the stereo looks like I need Chewbacca to sort it

It's probably the radio aerial!! TVR used to use a small aerial amplifier (powered) mounted behind the dash, as the aerial wire (originally) ran up the passenger side of the windscreen and along the top.
Reception was c**p! Hence I replaced it with the ModWise aerial kit - excellant.
My CD autochanger is mounted in the boot on top of the fuel tank shelf.

It's definitely the same wire. There's a thinner wire bonded to the outside. Both ends of the loop go tight and I daren't pull too hard as I can imagine the whole lot coming out. Twenty one years of 'amateur' audi technicians/electricians have left quite a mess in there. I can put it back where it was but I know it will bother me Reception was c**p! Hence I replaced it with the ModWise aerial kit - excellant.
