The pioneer unit in my griff is not great by modern standards. I want to upgrade it for something that allows iPod connection via the rear of the unit or to a music collection stored on an SD card. The unit must be in keeping with the style of the car which has a brushed Ali dash.

Most of the units these days have more flashing lights than Blackpool illuminations and just look too modern.

Anyone got any good suggestions of units that are inkeeping with the clean simple style of the griff and are not covered in endless buttons and flashing lights?

Any suggestions welcome

Brian.

Thanks guys, I keep coming back to the P77MP as the ally style front will look great on my brushed ally dash.

Can anyone that has one confirm ..... can you actually control an ipod/iphone from the HU or do you need to use the ipod itself to select albums / tracks etc?

Had a look online but it is not clear to me

To enable iPod connection you will also need the CD-IB100 ipod interface. I bought one off ebay. (works for any Pioneer unit with the iBus connection)

For what is a basic head unit display, it's pretty simple to use with practice, the sound and function all works very well. Using the CD-IB100 allows you to keep and connect up the auto-changer if you wish (mine has it in the boot anyway, so just connected the interface with the ibus lead)...then you just use the Source button on the head unit as normal. The IPOD becomes an additional Source.

Brian, you need both units as suggested for the ipod to have functionality, which then means you can joggle up and down the ipod from the fascia.you can also switch between play lists from the fascia

thats as far as the techie in me has mastered....im sure you can select tracks etc on the move, but I just stick my favourite playlist in and 'skip" any track i get bored with.
