Which scale model is the best?
Discussion
Has anyone compared the new Spark brand Griff model to the SMTS one for detail and such? I'd quite like to have a model of the car and like many would prefer it in my own car's colours so I wondered whether to re-paint the Spark one or build an SMTS from scratch?
I don't suppose there is a larger scale Griff model out there

I've looked and surprisingly I've not found anything bigger than 1/43, also they're all quite disappointing. Foe example on that Spark model, the boot lid shape is totally wrong, the bonnet is too shallow and there's something else wrong with the side profile of the front that I can't put my finger on but I think it's too short in the panel between the door and the wheelarch.

Spark model Ok for the casual observer. Yes the boot lid line perhaps could be redrawn, fill and recut the resin. Also rear exhaust could be re-bent to proper shape.
For a 1/43 scale detailing is pretty good. Tyres look like they have Bridgestone treads!. 4mm wing mirrors and rear mirror have insert reflective mirrors. Also, underneath detailing of chassis. This can be unscrewed.
Interior detailing also good for seats which have TVR logo on the head rests. Also facia detailing of dials, targa struts, handbrake, gear lever and wipers. Green haze top strip to windscreen.
PH and TVRCC perhaps could organise a petition to Spark fot a 1/24 scale. £100+. Just spent £160 on boring new Mira shower cartridge.
Winter job, exhaust, boot lid, number plates and a respray.

My 4 penneth!?!!
Would a 1/18th griff sell enough for a sound business plan ! No!
Would i buy one, and be happy to spend a decent amount ( eg. Minichamps/autoart money ) on it,
Definately yes, especially if it was in " fastest colour blue"!!!!
Thats my thoughts

It's a real shame that 1:18 models were not produced. I remember talking with Ben Samuelson at the factory about it and, at the time, he was working on it but, sadly, it all came to nought.
So do you think there'd still be a market for 1:18 Griffiths?Would a 1/18th griff sell enough for a sound business plan ! No!

£100?
Yep!
The day WILL when the car goes
Either the bank manager wont let me run it or my back wont let me get in it!
Sure not gonna be buried in it, viking style!
And when that time comes the bigger and more accurate the model that replaces it on the " cars ive owned" shelf in the lounge , the better
Any ho £ 100 = a few pairs of clarks shoes for the kids or a decent griff for the memories....
Best get binding their feet japanese style!
