Decided to keep one of the Tuscan seats and finished fitting it today. What a ruddy difference !!
A far better seat, with good lower back support, ( lumbar pump as well ) and far more supportive. Its slightly higher than the original drivers one, guessing a couple of inches at most.
Yet to drive it as still havnt sourced a new Clutch Master cyl, but sure it will be much nicer to drive, particularly when giving it some and also give my knackered lower back some relief !
My first Griff ( N435 DDY ) WHERE ARE YOU NOW ? had been fitted with Cerb seats i believe, but the Tuscan ones seem better.
To OP, you should try it with the cushions out, sitting lower, no loss of comfort and a lot more side-support. (i started doing that with my Tuscan and do the same with the Tuscan-seats in the Griff now; http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... )
Hi Bart, yes the shoulder ( top harness ) straps both mount to the the roll bar on lugs that Steve Heath had made when he had the cage designed by the Roll Centre. ( will get a photo of them ) .
The seat was a bit fiddly to fit, but easy now I know what's involved. I used the Tuscan passenger seat, with the Griff seat runners. You leave off the 2 front Griff brackets as these are what give the Griff seat it's hight at the front. You then re drill the Griff runners ( at the front ) to fit them to the Tuscan seat frame.
I had to open out the Tuscan mounting holes ( towards the drivers side ) as other wise it's tight against the trans mission tunnel.
Had the Tuscan seats ages but never got round to fitting them, until now, wished I had as I have been suffering due to the non existent lower back support of the Griff drivers seat.
