Red Interior - Was It An Option ?
Discussion
Thanks for the replys, much appreciated !
So the 400 was available with red .
And That's more like it ! Silver body and red trim, What a gorgeous color combo, a dark blue or black dash ( as in my car ) would also work very well with the red.
Anyone have any red interior trim knocking around ?
I'm thinking Red whale tail, carpets and door cards, seats ( or re color ) my magnolia ones.

That is a stunning interior, Podie.
Neutral 3,you are mirroring my current thinking. I have been toying with the idea of changing the interior colour of my Chimaera to a Bordeaux. However, I'm not sure which bits to change. I don't want to change everything (matter of cost, largely). Currently dark blue (carpets, dash top, centre console) and light grey (seats, door cards, roll bar underside, etc).
Does anyone have any other pictures of part red interiors (not necessarily TVR)?
Or, are there any 'golden rules' for interior colour combos (eg seats and door cards must match)?
Thanks,
David

Hi David, interesting re yr interior color thoughts.
My inner door cards are navy which I am happy with and it also goes with red. So I want to change the color of the outer door cards, whale tail, gear shift and h brake gaiters, the 2 transmission tunnel pads and at least the front footwell carpets, sill carpets and possibly the rear deck carpet, ( although my carpets are still in good condition so not essential ) and the seats all to red.
Magnolia is a swine to keep clean and with Decosol Orange cleaner no longer available it's just
a nightmare.
A red interior really opens up a cars interior, check out an early E Type with a red interior, it looks so good.
My dash is navy and in near perfect condition so more than happy there.

Most interiors (red, or not) are usually one or two colours. Could we get away with three colours, or would that look to 'busy'? My interior is navy and light grey. I'm not sure if I can get away with retaining any grey. If I could retain some grey, it would keep the costs down somewhat.
Neutral 3, I agree - navy and red can look really strong, together.
