Talk to TVR Power, I think they may be able to do BV conversion for about this (you may have to do some work yourself).

I would have thought BV is the best result in terms of bhp/£.

Look at www.t-v-r-services.co.uk. Induction and chipping is probably the way to go for that budget.

Indeed - any change to the air/fuel will probably require a rechip - and that's about £1000 with a rolling road session from Mr Adams. You'll probably need the rest for the insurance increase!

Unles you're hell bent on getting engine power at the expense of the overall performance of the car, spending money on the engine is by far the worst place to spend it ..
driver training on road and track, suspension, braking then engine is the route I would take whatever tvr i had ..

I agree with what julian said as even something as simple as good traction tyres or lowering your diff ratio will make the car accelarate quicker, but on the engine front allow at least £600 for mark adams, so the left over i would spend on a trumpet base and inlet manifold leave the plenum standard, keep your heads as they will be already ported but just get big valves and have the seats cut, and then to finish it off a nice h404 cam and that should see you a healthy increase in power

Rob what is latest flavour of Hydralic grind performance CAM to come form you now. I see the H404 but also hear of the MC2, is this one and the same .
Only asked as the recent 4.6 you did for a V8S had, I believe, the MC2 and is making silly, read super , power for a road going 4.6 .
Any stabs in the dark as to what its worth (on average, no commitment etc) over my boggo 218 .

the 218 now how can i put it?? a nice cam it does everything well.. good powere delivery through the whole range, the mc2 is a bit sportier and h404 is a fast road cam, i would not want to go more than the 404 for a road car due to driveability issues low down in the rev range, although i am trying to get comp cams to grind me a roller cam watch this space...

Um when selecting the 218 that was the thinking behind it, I think the MC1 was faily new on the block at the time. However since you/ray rebuilt it its moved on a little bit, improved breathing, clever spark gizmo and is fairly well up there . However I think the saying goes, looking for a little more, without increasing the CC's .
Seriously what would the H404 and or the MC2 in terms of outright improvement give .

do the trumpets / ACT box make much difference - I would love to gain a webber style induction sound without resorting to true multi throttle bodies (expense)..
