What are the tubes going into and out of the box with sc500 written on it?
That is the secondary plenum, one pipe is the crank case breather return from the oil catch tank and the bigger black one is from the recirc valve (think scooby dump valve, only we are using that excess charge to keep the charger spooled up).GlynMo said:
How does that work out of interest? I thought a s/c was purely mechanically driven.
The rotrex is a centrifugal pump without a direct gear drive to the blade, not sure how its coupled to the pully but it is not direct drive, hence the recirc can keep the blade turning when the belt pulley slows down..this is one of the reason thet SC kit works so well and feels so smooth as the boost is progressive, it does also mean the boost is VERY susceptable to any restrictions in the intake system.my original instal only saw 6 psi max boost, its now over 10 psi just by improving the pipework and filters.

Its one of my problems also, JE built me a race spec engine and it breathes heavily..my intention when I get the car back from its chassis repair is to blank off the breather return to the plenum as the charger is continuously swimming in oil cheers jim
Not ideal I know, but im going to run the catch tank return to ground as the S/C seems to be making the case pressure enough to push the oil thru the catch tank
The Stealth and MC1 cams have both worked well on std engines with FI..I had an MC1 (altho my mechanic swares blind it was an MC2) cam on my original engine worked nicely and gave me over 400bhp at the fly and good road manners) If you are looking to go FI properly, then JE and V8D both produce a custom grind specifically for FI, and im very happy with the JE one in mine.

Anybody got any pictures of where the intercooler pipes pass by the radiator. On a Griff that is.
Here you go:And one without the radiator in the way:
Thanks.. I had heard that the stealth had overlap issues which lead to top end tapering of power and rather large amounts of torque under 3500 rpm. I'd be interested in the difference between a stealth and a FI cam.. Don't like my chances of getting these figures as I am sure they are proprietary info.
