Small red light on heater panel?
Discussion
Greetings everybody. Having recently bought my beautiful 1994 Griff 500, I set about trying to figure out what all of these buttons do. Pretty much sorted it all out except for a tiny red light, to the left upper side of the drivers electric window switch. Have the owners manual, but it doesn't seem to refer to it. Any ideas please
Greetings, I'm new too, and also have bought this summer a 1994 Griffith 500HC. Guess what, the ice warning light is usually on glowing red! I've found the sensor, it's a little blue disc, and replacements are available apparently, but will changing the sensor put it right or is it something else?
Greetings from East Yorkshire. I splashed out on a new thermistor sensor from racetechdirect, the disc type on my car, and fitted it yesterday. Bingo. Well, it goes yellow, then red, then out on start up, so just need some cold weather now to see if it responds as indicated in the handbook.
Not a big job, it was secured up behind the near side headlight but accessible from under the car, and by cutting its cable tie it dropped down enough for me to replace it. A bit of contortionism with a soldering iron, but at £4.65+vat and postage, worth the trouble in my eyes. Good luck with yours if you follow suit.

According to my handbook, after it starts up as previously described, it glows green at 5degrees, then yellow at 2deg., and red if the ambient temperature drops to zero. As it has been about 10deg today, it is unlit after it's initial start up. I'm sure I won't have to wait too long for lower temperatures here in Yorkshire, but I'm not planning to get up at 4a.m. or dip the sensor in an ice bucket in the meantime just to see if it works as described! Best wishes, docmooro.

Thanks for the help guys. This brings me onto what could be an new topic. If I'm to go looking for this detector, which sounds like it could be anywhere other than the exhaust manifold, I'm gonna need the appropriate tools. Time for me to buy a 1tonne jack me thinks.
Regards
It's usually hanging down in the front N/S wing just behind the grill.Regards
