shocks & springs

I've fitted the pro techs to my Chim.
It took a few hours messing with the damper settings and adjusting the height (ergo pre load) but now that I have them where I want them, I'm very happy.
I've settled on 6 clicks (it might be 7 but I think its 6 from memory) at the front and 9 at the rear (although I may turn the fronts up one click).
I don't track the car so I couldn't justify the cost of Nitrons or Gaz monos. I got a good deal going direct, much better price than Gaz.
Good luck.

On Protech's Website the Griff/Chim set is £672 which is a lot more than Racetech who currently have them on offer for £600. These prices are pretty much the same as Gaz Gold Pros so tough to choose.I got a good deal going direct, much better price than Gaz.
ETA: VAT on Racetech's price

I'm not going to say what I paid on a public forum as everybody has to have their own negotiation but it was a lot lower than any price you've mentioned.
So guys, is there a concensus amongst the sensible headed Griff community, who have not got telephone numbers to spend on shock/spring setups and who want them for good road use, that the Protechs are the ones to go for in that price bracket, as opposed to Gaz Pro Golds or Bilsteins? I am still debating on what setup. Was considering the Gaz Monos but they will work out and almost a £1000 with VAT.

I've got the single adjustment Protechs and am happy with them, they are better than what was originally fitted because they had aged. I have adjusted the ride height and damping to suit me and I could feel the difference, however never having tried new Bilsteins, Nitrons, Ohlins, Gaz Pro Golds etc I cannot say whether or not the Protechs are better. I find that the damper adjustment knob on my Protechs is a bit difficult to grip when reach under the car to make adjustments. The only reason I bought Protechs was that I got them for £400 from someone who'd bought them new but never fitted them - if I'd had to pay full price I'd probably be in the same dilemma as you.
