I have just commissioned my 2-Post Lift in my new garage. I am really chuffed with it. It is an Automotech AS-6140A, with a 4 tonne lifting capacity. At £1,199 plus VAT I reckon it is an absolute bargain. The installation instructions are a bit cr*p in places but, too be honest, there is not much to the installation and when I rang Automotech they were very helpful. Having said that I am sure there a re plenty of equally good suppliers around. My installation is a bit more complicated as it is sitting on steel beams as I have built a basement workshop below – all calculated by a structural engineer before the doomsayers jump in.

For all you doomsayers, the arms are extendable so you can either lift the Griff by its chassis or you can put the pads under the wishbones, thus compressing the springs and dampers, so I can ‘stack’ my Griffs over winter and not worry about the suspension hanging down.
I can now give the green Griff a really good service, including getting to that impossible oil filler on the differential and the not so impossible filler on the gearbox, plus all the other outstanding under body service items that need doing. I can also get down to renovating the turquoise Griff. If you have seen the Wheeler Dealers episode where they renovate a Cerbera, Edd China uses his 2-post lift to lift the body off the chassis. He places the 4 pads under the wheel arches, as he reckons the glass fibre is tough at this point and it is no different from getting 4 mates lifting the body by the wheel arches.

Would I recommend a 2-post over a 4-post lift (discussed in other posts)? I think it is ‘horses for courses’ but certainly I am very pleased with the 2-post and would recommend one to anybody, both for servicing as well as storage - it's going to be really useful for me.

They look like a worthy investment, very very jealous.
At that sort of money they would really be a consideration, they would pay for themselves after a couple of services!
Must say though the new exhaust system hanging down on the right looks a bit spindly!

Looks Great Pete, What's the height of the posts?

Want one! Trouble is, it would mean rebuilding the garage as the roof is too low rage

2,826mm is the height of the posts. Could be a problem for some garages I suppose. This is not the only 2-Post lift on the market, there must be alternatives.
