Classic LeMans Trip
Discussion
The TVRCC will be announcing an offering very soon. In the meantime you could register your interest with our partner and TVRCC member Ian Longden at www.fasttracktours.co.uk
funny you should ask, i was discussing le mans with a mate yesterday evening. Prior to the TVRs we now own, weve both had cobra replicas for years, and the cobra club was pretty active and organised group tickets and camping for le mans classic etc, and that usually generated a group of 50 to 60 cobras (plus a few other cars) camping together. meant your kit and car were always ok, as there were usually some folk left around the campsite at any time, and cooking etc was easy as someone always had a BBQ going.... and you never ran out of beers!!
we tended to organise the travel down separately due to different restrictions on timescales etc, and meet up on site, first one down fenced off an area sufficient for the group though the last 2 years the pitch allocations tended to make that less of a requirement.
I'm not sure if the tvr club do something similair, or if anyone here organises something, but interested if they do. camping at the track, despite the less than lavish facilities, is part of the fun and makes it easy to just wander to and from the racing and as long as someone is sober enough for the beer run what else do you need?

I don't think they've done any 'deal' just added a TVR page for booking. I'd suggest that people wait until next week and have a look at the TVRCC offer. A

Do we have to join the TVR club to be eligible.
I recall that wasn't so cheap back in the day I was a member.
TVRCC members will be given priority with elements that have limited availability.I recall that wasn't so cheap back in the day I was a member.
Membership is much less than a tank of petrol these days and even if the magazine isn't of value to you many members report that the savings they make on insurance and other offers often easily repays the cost of membership.
Hi

As David has said the full plans for next year will be announced very soon hopefully.
And thanks to those of you who have pointed out the problems with the contact page. My webman is on the case!

In 2012 we arranged for the TVRCC to have one of the largest areas in the Clubs Enclosure (200 cars). All I will say at this stage is we'll not be having a smaller area in 2014

Having had a TVR for years I have found the TVRCC hard going.Membership is much less than a tank of petrol these days and even if the magazine isn't of value to you many members report that the savings they make on insurance and other offers often easily repays the cost of membership.
I wanted to be a member to support the group. One of the problems is that each year its the same, I call/email them to say "where is my sprint this month" and I have the reply "you are no longer a member as your membership ran out". I rejoin and pay again only to find the same again. I have never had a reminder. Sometimes my log in stops working part way through the year and I have to email them repeatedly to have it sorted.
I finally gave up. I want to be a member, but for various reasons (not just the ones above) I feel they dont want me as a member.

I suspect things may have have changed since then however, as the club now uses a Direct Debit system to manage renewals and the database is much improved which also flags up those without a DD whose membership is about to expire. Likewise the access to the forum has been updated and the office or indeed any moderator can reset your password very quickly.
Probably worth another go as I think 2014 will be an exciting year for the TVRCC and TVR in general.

That's a shame. I don't know who you mean by "they" - the people who give up their time to run the club or the members who actually make uo the club? Either way I can confidently say "they" do want you (and anyone else thinking about it) to be a member. The more members the club has the better it can become. The better the club becomes the more members it will attract. Etc...As David has said, pay your renewal by direct debit. My problem wasn't the club not sending me a renewal, it was me forgetting to pay it. DD means that isn't a problem now
