What does this do?
Discussion
I know it's a battery but what does it do. I have just taken out my dash to build a new lighter one and found this battery. It dropped out when I removed the dash and I cannot find any wires that would have been attached to it so hope it's redundant. Alarm or immobiliser? Has anyone seen one in their car.
Jes,
If you are building a new light weight dash, will you be retaining the original one?? Although I'm an S owner, currently helping a friend refurbish his Griff dash and the warning light/dash light plastic strip has seen better days and he is on the hunt for a replacement before he gets the dash re-veneered.
The quest for speed is endless.
Happy new year.

Hi. I am keeping the strip with the lights - it will just bolt onto the new dash. Sorry. Good luck in the hunt. Simon, next you'll be telling me that my plan to fill the chassis with hydrogen is a bad idea.
I thought your chassis was filled with nitrous, phazed said:
Jes. I had a battery same as that in my chim but mounted above the fuel tank retained by a bracket.
I disconnected it..........nothing failed...........introduced it to the skip
