Scuffed kick plate

I am looking to buy my first Griffith. I have found a possible purchase. However the area just behind the kick plate on the drivers side has been scuffed pretty badly by the door. The pins have no play present. The car has full tvr service history and the dealer (RPR626 in Spennymoor) doesn't seem concerned. Is this something I should be worried about?

Door drop does happen, though usually with age and use. It may need the hinges re-set which is a few £100 I think.
Of course the salesman isn't concerned, it would put you off! But I'd get a quote for the work and try to knock it off the price.

If your sole reason not to buy is a bit of scuffing, I'd suggest you not get involved with anything other than a mainstream vehicle. Audi seem to be in need of sales of their TT model.

Does it look like it could have been done by a trapped seat belt fastener when the doors been shut, if so not uncommon IMHO.

Personally it wouldn't bother me, I'd worry more if it'd been badly repaired. The servicing sounds more important and you may be able to knock the price down a little to reflect the price of repairing it? You could even attempt to adjust the door yourself, I'm sure there's plenty in the archives of how to do it.

Mine is the same. Its also chipped a little along the rear edge of the door. Peninsula tried to adjust it for me as best they can but it still rubs. Its vintage 1992 and panel fit wasnt great on early griffs (It isnt great on any other TVR either come to think of it )
