Yes i know this has been cooked to death however i have removed mine today
what a bit of workmanship i must say, the back of the dash has several brackets stuck to the back to enable the instruments to have that set back look
, i have now made my mind up and are going for somethink completley different, 2mm stainless steel with the brackets tig welded on (probably because some of the damm things have fallen off over the years)and wait for it
i am going to blast the stainless steel with some garnet in my blasting machine this will give the stainless a matty finish, and finaly a coat of varnish and of course sort out those dash lights, i shall post some pics, Watch out BB as i will send you the full monte
if all fails i will vaneer some walnut to the base,
If anyone is interested in the stainless as i will have to have about 6 lazer cut to make the minimum charge up.
Steve....

Is it engine turned effect stainless steel stesrg?
No the stainless i will have from the lasercuters will be some 304 however this can be polished, patterned, engraved, used as a backing for some new venere, i shall not be welding all the brackets on the back as this is very time consuming but you can glue them on yourself.
Steve.....
Something that may be of interest, some time ago we had a batch of machine turned stainless dashes cut in 1.2mm that fit over the original dash in the pre-cat griffs,i.e you leave the walnut dash in place, i may have a couple left or maybe Austec or peninsula as they both bought a few from me, email me if interested and before anybody asks we aren't doing any other stainless dashes as Leven cover this very well.

. Steve.
I'd really like a machine turned stainless dashboard.
Any one know of anyone who's selling these?
I suppose it would be possible to get one of your dashes stresrg machined to this finish, could you please email me with the price you want. And did you also have the area around the heater control made up?
Cheers

I am in the process of geting the dash scaned for the cad and will do some in base stainless and aluminium, also their was a post on here a few months ago, think it was DNB, i will be doing some of the light thingy panel in aluminium, think by next week i will have some pics, you can actualy do the machined finish yourself with a drill with orbital attachment and 20mm sanding pad.
Steve....
Steve,
I appreciate you're up to a bit of DIY here but when you start offering to make dashes for other people it starts to step on the toes of some of our advertisers who sell veneer and stainless dashboards.
Could I ask you therefore to limit your venture to your own car or take the group buy aspect offline?
Sorry, but companies pay good money to offer their goods to PHers and that's what pays my bills.
Thanks,
Ted
