Hi all, i'm having my chassis powder coated and would like to match the original metallic grey/silver finish as found on the early cars. The trouble is I am split between two shades of silver/grey and was wondering if someone could post a quick pic of their original pre-cat finish, perhaps against or next to a sheet of white paper to help me get an idea of shade. Of course, if you happen to know the correct 'RAL' code the so much the better smile Thanks in advance, Mike

Hi Mike,

This was the cleanest bit of chassis powder-coat left on my pre-cat. Sorry no bit of white paper because it's all been refurbed now. Hope it helps.
Also you can claim a prize if you recognise where on the car the pic is from.

Cheers,

Simon

Mine is a pre-cat, I have just had my wishbones stripped and re-powdercoated, I matched the colour ages ago to RAL 9006 Silver! Quote that to any powder coater or paint shop and they will know. You can have paint mixed up to this colour also, I have a litre of it made up some years ago, it's a paint that is one coat (like Hammerite smooth but better). regards, Pete
