Light conversion

Does anybody know how much the quad in pod light conversion costs
I'm looking to add a little bit of individuality to the car and this seems a nice way of doing it
Can this kit be fitted at home or is it a professional job
Where can this kit be found

My fave is the pod replacement ('speed 6'), keeping the original perspex. It's what I'd do if I had another Griff.

Prices used to be around £600-£700 for the kit, or about £1.2k fitted with a front end respray thrown in. All IIRC, someone will come and correct me if it transpires I'm pulling numbers out my ar$e!

I had the lens covered Speed 6 done by tvrbodyshop, earlier this year. Personally I think it looks excellant. It gives the front end a more modern look while retaining the original lines. (oh and the lights are a lot lot brighter too!!!).

Is that all? Can you fit lights that have a square dip pattern rather than lh or rh?

Blimey! Sounds like a bargain. Did it used to be more expensive or am I imagining things?

That is for the standard lights as fitted to the Tuscan with 80 and 100 watt bulbs.
I can fit Gas Discharge unit but that will add additional cost of Aprox £1000.plus vat.

But are they square dip or lh & rh? Sorry to be a pain, but the std lights on Griffs are so bad that it doesn't matter about the dipping for the continent. I want to keep the original headlight cover, but don't want to bugger about when we go to Europe.

What's the lead time at the moment?

You would need to adjust the beam pattern to drive in europe, this should take aprox half an hour each side.

Lead time aprox 2 week.

I had this conversion on my Griff along with a front end re-spray. It was very well done and the lights were fantastic.

Just went to their website and found an interesting rear light conversion too.
Looks a bit like the SE rear I used to have, as this is for an older 400 to tart up I don't mind going the whole hog and giving the girl a face lift as the under pinnings are fine.

I would be interested in converting the front of my Griff if the kit could be supplied ready painted in a standard colour. Is it possible for a competent DIYer to fit this at home? And if so, how much for a painted kit?

I have just done this conversion myself, whilst it's not too difficult, for £495 + VAT I'd get the pro's to do it. You're not saving so much by taking the DIY route once you factor in time, learning from your mistakes, sundries and tryimg to get the Sikaflex off your hands and in my case face!
I decided not to have them painted body colour but went for a black finish instead just incase I didn't like them and wanted to change back. But I do like the look of it now and actually quite like the black, works for me but probaly wouldn't look so good on a lighter coloured car.

Thanks for that. Sounds as if it's quite a messy job, not at all straightforward. What was the cost of the kit, and what did you have to buy in terms of sundries?

Do you have any piccies of your car now, After I had mine done, I did wonder what they would of looked like in black. Cheers David.
