Had to post my thanks for a happy ending to a gruesome horror story involving a snapped crank.
Thanks to Rob at V8D for building a beast of an engine and the two Phills at Aeromotive for doing a cracking job transplanting in the new heart, plus all the advice from you guys on here.

Here's to a sunny summer and loads of grin filled miles :-)

P.S.
How the hell do you drive a Griff slowly to bed it in? Lol.

You don't. You take it to a big hill and thrash it??
Who told you to drive it slow?

I would have thought Rob would have instructed you on running in?

I was always told to keep the revs down below 4.5k but keep the engine free revving and not under heavy load during the running in and vary the revs (ie don't plod down the motorway at a fixed speed for 500 miles).
I ran my last engine in by picking it up from the garage after they bedded in the cam etc, drove it straight to Spa, changed the oil and then ragged the arse off it cool

Glad to hear it is all sorted after what sounded a real horror story; in time for the Spring and summer as well so good timing.
