TorqueFlow TF500 Induction
Discussion
I’ve just bought a Griff fitted with the TorqueFlow TF500 induction kit. TBH I’d have preferred a standard car as I live in the South and, if anything goes wrong with it, I don’t fancy multiple trips to Cheshire to get it fixed. However, after a few hundred miles I’m very pleased with the car and the only complaint I’d have with the TF500 system is that it seems to significantly reduce the amount of noise. It’s not easy to put my finger on it but, I’d say it has the same volume as a standard car but for a far narrower rev range, outside of which it’s much smoother and quieter. Driving through the narrow streets of Petworth on the way back from Goodwoods Supercar Sunday I felt embarrassingly quiet in the company of 450SE and Tuscan. It’s certainly much happier at slow speed lower revs than other Griffs I’ve driven.
On the plus side, I picked up the car from “up North”, dropped straight onto the motorway and did just shy of 240 miles nearly all at typical, rather than fast, motorway speed. Probably 30 miles of 50mph roadworks in that. When I brimmed the tank it took exactly 8 gallons, that equates to 29.75mpg! It also seesm to gives a healthy extra bit of grunt at around 4000rpm which I’ve not noticed in other Griffs.
Are any other owners with TF Induction able to tell me if the economy and noise are typical?

Improved economy is part of many of the TorqueFlow installations I've heard about. Sounds like you were being easy on it though......
Regards the noise you're comparing the Griffith to a car that is certainly not running cats in the wedge and was the Tuscan standard as well?
That said I've often questioned whether my car is as loud as others but I've been assured my car is no quieter than other cars so it's just the 'sitting inside it' effect I think.

Looking forward to sharing your thoughts - my Griff goes to Lloyds Specialist Developments where I too am assured my shunting will 100 per cent disappear. More torque and better ecomony too! AFM, stepper motor, dizzy and Lucas ECU all destined for the bin - to be remapped, rewired and replaced with a new Canums ECU. Glowing reports from fellow piston headers about these Lloyd brothers. Lucky for me, half an hour down the road. They will be having a stand at the annual Neil Garner Open Day SN16 9SH on Saturday 27th Sept.On the plus side, I picked up the car from “up North”, dropped straight onto the motorway and did just shy of 240 miles nearly all at typical, rather than fast, motorway speed. You will not be disappointed! The excellent Canems system transformed my Chimaera in open loop, the car became so much smoother in the infamous shunting window, the throttle response sharpened everywhere and the engine made more power over 4,500rpm.
Recently the Lloyd boys deployed a new closed loop strategy which has taken my car to another world of smoothness on both petrol & LPG.
Working with the Lloyd boys is an absolute pleasure; they are intelligent, respectful, honest & extremely skilled in what they do.
Choosing Lloyd Specialist Developments means you're working with degree qualified aerospace engineers, they think, troubleshoot & solve problems like professional engineers because that's what they are.
Its a substantially different experience to giving your car to a mechanic, even if that mechanic markets himself as a TVR specialist.
Highly recommended
