Hi guys

Talking to a couple of local chaps in the club over the weekend and I understand that you can get gas struts for the Griff.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please as google hasn't been my friend in this search!

Thank you Phillpot.

Sorry but I didnt explain myself very well! (No very bright at the best of times biggrin )

I was wondering if anyone has converted their bonnet stay from a metal bar to separate additional gas struts to keep the bonnet up? However, thinking on this logically it may not be feasible as the bonnet moves back then forward when opening.

If anyone has completed this challenge on their Griff please step forward sir!

Thanks Adam

The company phillpot mentions offer Griff bonnet gas struts, so they must work? http://www.sgs-engineering.com/car-boot-tailgate/t...

I think the ones on that site are the short ones that lift the rear edge of the bonnet up when it is popped.

I think what Adam wants to do is remove the solid bar that slots into the nearside wing and holds the front of the bonnet open. He wants the front of bonnet to be held open with a gas strut instead, like most modern cars are. Don't think I've ever seen that done on a Griff and as he says might be tricky with the way the bonnet is hinged.
