Does anyone know where you can get a replacement for these odd little washers.
They are the ones under the bolts which hold the lock into the body.

They are like cup washers only black and with a filled in back rather than the hollow back of cup washers. They trouble with cup washers is the sharp edges cut into the paintwork.

I have 3 washers on one side and none on the other. They seem to have gone walkabout during the respray and I've just never got around to sourcing some.

Cheers

Don't know what they are called. Do you have a local nut and bolt supplier?

There's one in Slough called APEX Fasteners (bit far from you) but I would be surprised if they couldn't get them. Do you have a picture and dimensions. I'm in Slough tomorrow so could pop in and ask them if you like

I had to make some out of 6000 aluminium off cuts, the originals (and replacements) seemed to keep breaking with age so could only assume the aluminium was the poorly recycled can variety.

Material costs FA, but bloody fiddly & time consuming to make a set... drill centre, countersink (right depth!), screw into (hand made) arbor in chuck, cut outer profile (ground cutter to shape), polish if you must...

Ballistic Banana you're a git laugh:

Colin, probably too late now and I can't get to the car to measure them but I did try a local fastener company who had no idea if they could get them, and to be honest. If I'm only looking for 6 it won't help them put much effort in.
But thanks very much for the offer. I really appreciate it.

And talking of effort - 10/10 to Spend for going through all that to make a few washers.
If you're ever kicking your heels and want a little job to keep you out of trouble .....

Ian, for my own future reference, was this the answer all along? By the look of them they look just like the description you give. Pete

Just called them Pete.
They are solid, so I've ordered 10 in Blue.
I'll update this post when they arrive.

Pete,

I'm happy to report the washers are exactly what I wanted. They came in the post on Thursday so a very speedy service too.
I bought the Blue ones which are a bit bright and blingy but they are hidden as soon as you shut the door so they're OK but maybe Black to match the bolt heads might have been better.
In hindsight I should have realised what Blue anodised ali looks like - you see it on half the tat around these days so if you're wondering what the other colours might be like have a squint at ali stuff in Decathlon / Go Outdoors etc and you'll get the idea.

Thanks to Spitfire4v8 for a great recommendation thumbup
