Can anyone recommend a good place to get my radiator reconditioned local to me in Harpenden? (i.e. Herts or Beds ideal).
Thanks guys
James, not quite what you are asking as they are not in Herts or Beds (but not that far either) but I used Aaron Radiators:Thanks guys

I am not even sure you can recore an aluminium rad...! I recollect that someone on this blog said that they didn't find Aaron Rads very communicative. I found them very helpful and the price was good and of course they courier the new rad to you.
One thing to note from my experience. Apparently the original set-up for the Griffs had a GRP cowl to hold the fans to the radiator. Neither of my Griffs have this cowl, however the rad I was replacing had an aluminium cowl welded to the radiator so that was what I was expecting to receive, however the Aaron rad does not have this cowl. If you have the GRP cowls then you are fine but if not then you will have to have new cowls fabricated either in aluminium or GRP. I hope this helps. Pete
Thanks Pete - my rad is non aluminium/original fitment with fibreglass fan cowls. I picked Aaron up through Google but time is a bit tight and I might save a few hours and go for someone 5 miles from me in Luton. Hope I don't live to regret it!
BTW my Griff is 1998 - would the radiator have started off as a L-R Discovery rad??

As I understand it these people have a good reputation:

Based in Hertford they are only 30 minutes drive from you in Harpenden.
This is not a recommendation as I've never used them, but based on some past PH posts I've seen they do seem to have a good reputation and also have knowledge of & experience with TVR rads.
If you do use them can you please share your experiences on here, I've been thinking of a commissioning re-core myself in the next year or so.
Good luck with it, Dave.

I ended up using a place in Luton called "Commercial Specialists/Auto Rads". They did a 2 day turnaround and I picked it up from them today. From a visual inspection they've done a nice job - all looking very new and sparkly and brackets/pegs all within 1 mm of the original. I won't have it all back together again for 2 months so I can't comment on anything further than external appearance - but so far they get my vote - and the price was very competitive.
