Hello Gents,

After selling my T350T 4 years ago and then selling my Tamora 2 years ago it seems to be time for some more TVR action.

I've always liked the shape of the Griff but the only one with the engine that does it for me is the 500.

The prices for these seems to be all over the place though ranging from 10k to 30k with very little to differentiate between the cars.

The cars in the low teems seem to be on ebay but there are a few on C&C and one here on Pistonheads, the cars at the top end seem to be very optimistic dealers and private individuals.

So what kind of money is a good one? Should I give all the cheap ones a chance, as surely there will be a good one in there, there was a red one sold on ebay which looked rather tidy albeit with a dead speedo and it only made £12k.

The red one on ebay looked like a good buy for somebody. The prices on Griff 500 especially the late 90's ones have firmed right up. I would suspect if you want a 98/99/2000 Griff 500 in perfect condition from a dealer with low miles you will be paying mid 20's now.

Having owned TVRs before the usual rules apply. Buy on condition. You need to go and take a look at some to see why they are cheap and also go and take a look at one of the high 20K ones to make your own comparison.

Don't worry I will Tim.

I was lucky with both my T's as they were bought at the bottom of the market, £17k and £12k respectively and were sold for a small profit each after a lot of fun.

Ideally I'd like to do with again with a Griff, although the more a look and read I feel it maybe easier to do with a Cerb, I just love the Rover V8 warble....

Interesting; I've been thinking of going from my Griff to a tamora - do you not fancy going back to a Tam?
