Firstly I am a new Griffith 500 owner so hello everybody.
I have just installed some Gaz Monotubes and have found plenty of info for the geo settings but I can't to seem to find many measurements for the ride height. The best that I have found is rear 160mm and from 145mm measured from the ground to the outrigger triangle. I am running the standard wheels, 15 inch front and 16 inch rear. I have read most people recommend around 10mm - 20mm rake but I would be grateful for any recommendations on ride height that I can use as a starting point.

Welcome to the forum. We need pictures of your new purchase.
I don't have definitive figures but those sound about right. I would recommend getting a full geo set up done after a hundred miles or so once the shocks and springs have settled a bit. TVRs are great when they are set up well but can be a bit nervous if not.

Thanks. I would definitely describe the current handling as less than perfect. I will also be changing the tyres for Toyo Proxes today as the current ones are old and a brand I don't recognise.
Do most people run standard geo settings? I prefer a car setup for B road blasts which I presume needs a slightly more aggressive setup.

http://www.tyreleader.co.uk/ seem to have some great deals on Toyo's at the moment.
Whereabouts in the country are you?
I can recommend an inexpensive independent TVR expert to set up the car's ride height, check your suspension over for faults (best done before you pay for a geo!), advise on Mono settings (he has them on his own car) and do you a four wheel computerised geo - the car will be totally transformed.

My best suggestion to you would be to take it to Mat Smith at Downham Market. He will do it while you wait, and it's a lovely drive from BSE - and a chance on the return trip to savour the difference. 01366 386004. Www.matsmithsportscars.com. Testimonials here:Tim

Mat is very experienced, knows the settings, will check everything is working properly, then get your ride height correct, then do the full geo using the proper Hunter equipment. He will set it to your requirements. I have a little extra camber on mine, as I do track days. It's not expensive......around £100 to £120 for all that, slightly more if he has to free off the rear toe adjusters. Best money I ever spent on mine. He is perfectly happy for you to watch and ask questions, he has been known to be quite chatty on occasion

When the car stops feeling like its going to kill you, do look out on the PH East Anglia forums for summer run outs. Darren (iluvmercs) organises some great ones. And do come over to Snetterton next time the TVR gang is there.....you will see the thread on TVR events. Join us for some track rides.
