Searched previous threads but cant find an easy way of aligning the door...
Have played with the top hinge & the catch bar on the door but still not great
The main reason for this was the door required slamming
to close it properly, slightly better now but still not a very smooth closure....
Anyone know a bodyshop trick?

if only. I'm curious how this thread is progressing. I'v been driving around with a slightly misalligned door for years because everybody warns me not to align it myself. So if there are daredevils who have done it themselfes, any advice is welcome.
Oh and yes, I have been to a dealer (there is only 1 over here..) and asked them to allign the door. They said it wasn't possible to align the door properly because the body flexed so much.....??

I need my door aligned too so am hoping this thread proves useful.
i'm more trying to get a smooth closure, with the shut lines on a Griff i dont think my door alignment is that far out...
I will be looking in at Castle later so will ask them about it. If no help, i have a Tvr body shop specialist near me & i will see if i can get any tips from him...

Well nearly
This was done with tiny repositioning of the slam bar/plate on the door. I found the best way to get a very small adjustment was to slightly loosen the allen bolts & a gentle tap...
Tip... Mark the original position in case it all goes T
TS... even a slight movement can make a BIG difference

This was done with tiny repositioning of the slam bar/plate on the door. I found the best way to get a very small adjustment was to slightly loosen the allen bolts & a gentle tap...

By "the slam bar/plate" you mean the plate close to the backrest of the seat. ( I am strugling here with my mediocre English...)
Anyway, when I stand behind the car looking to the front, it seems that the bottom of the door needs to go more to the midle of the car. Hope it makes some sense..
So it's not a case of my door doesn't close enough and I only have to adjust "the slam bar/plate". I my case a proper alligment would be in order. At our local club meeting nobody ever notices, but I just want it to be perfect. Our dealer wasn't able to adjust it, so all hope is gone..... LOL

For you & Dusty,
The bottom of my doors are also slightly proud of the body, the only way you can adjust this is by removing spacers from the bottom hinge (its at the very front bottom corner of the door)the bolts are accessed from inside.... unfortunately i have no spacers to remove so its gonna stay as it is...
If you do have spacers to remove you will need to realign the "the slam bar/plate/U shaped bar" thingy after....

Looks like this is something I wil have to live with then. One of those "They all do that sir" things.
