god its good to be back!

after selling my last griff in april and buying a tuscan in june,ive finally got back to the car i REALLY love-the griff.how could i have been so stupid!the flirt with the tuscan tought me a lot(relly glad i never ordered a new one).now i have a late griff in a fabulous spec with low miles and its sublime,there just arent enough superlatives to describe how i feel about the griff,its just so great.dont get me wrong,the tuscan was a good car-stunning looks,great handling and power,but it never made me truly happy.it wasnt as unreliable as some make out,but i did hate that engine noise,the pod wobble and the fact that i couldnt find the right place i could trust to service it(pretty limited from where i come from taking into account experiences gained!).its great to be back in griffland.expect a barrage of questions from me soon!p.s. the griff forum is so muchfriendlier too isnt it

Interesting you are back in Griff land, very nearly bought a Tuscan, just couldnt do it. I was mostly put off by reliability, but you say it wasnt as bad as made out ? I do love my Griff and been round it gradually, just putting the small things right, now its perfect so i will be keeping it for the forseable future.

We have an order on a MK II Convertible Tuscan ...... but the Griffith stays.

We wouldn't entertain getting another TVR unless we could afford to keep the Griffith. We only have one garage tho' - so that will be a difficult decision.

cheers all,as i said,its great to be in a griff and back on the BEST forum again!.toffer-i never really calculated the cost of my tuscan ownership,i reckon it was as follows,-£850 for major service(inc tappets)£800 paintwork,£100 s/hand wheel,£190 two rear tyres(yes i know,bloody cheap for goodyear f1's)and £200 for having a close ratio box fitted,then removed(dont ask!).i didnt loose anything in depreciation,infact i gained about £1k as i bought it very keenly,and sold it in a back to front deal with a specialist who was selling the griff.the only unknown figure is the fuel,and i really couldnt even begin to guess this,but i covered 4k miles in the 6 months.so it all comes to a little more than a grand plus fuel,not too bad really.as i said earlier,the keen price at which i bought the car really helped out here.
