Right then, about this bloody roof....

take off the panel and put the front part of the roof to the bottom with the material facing the front of the car. and edge in the nearside lower corner first whilst tilting the bottom of the roof towards the rear of the boot make sure you dont catch the roof on the hinge below the boot aperture it is a real fiddle if you havnt done it before
First, make sure your space saver has nothing between it and the baulkhead and it is as far as possible to the right. Holding the roof vertically with the front cutaway facing down and the material or top of the roof facing forward lower the left hand corner into the boot. Move the roof as far left as possible until the right hand side will drop in. Continue moving the roof to the left as far as it will go and that should be it !
Gorgeus weather today. I had a 1/2 day just so I could go out and play. Having failed dismally with the roof in the boot crap I decided to do what all British engineers have been doing since the dawn of time...improvise

Have another go, but make sure the groove that locates the roof on the windscreen is at the bottom as you put it in the boot - then, as the others said, drop the left hand corner in first, with the material side of the roof facing away from you.
Its easy when you know how, but you would never work it out on your own.

Wol came with no space-saver tyre and a can of tyreweld velcro'd to the top of the fuel tank.

No room for golf clubs... had three tower units in the boot...
mmm... later style vertical opening boot = roof goes up and down like Pwig's hormones... I carried my space saver for ages and the roof fitted fine.
But then, as someone on here pointed out, if you get a flat rear tyre and put the spacesaver on the car where does the puka wheel go, has any tried to fit one in the boot ?
Mine’s got magnolia leather and I want to keep it that colour, so it tyre weld for me. Also the roof fits better without the space saver leaving more room for other stuff and it doesn’t scuff so much.
