Pre Serp or Serp
Discussion
Evening all,
When I've restored and flogged my S1 Elise, I fully intend to buy a Griff. I've considered other cars like a 911, DB7, Jag XKR etc. but for me the Griffith always rises to the top of the short list........
Anyway, I'm doing my research via The Bible and alike and whilst I know there are differences in the two engine types I'm left wondering what the general opinion is, i.e. is the Serp better than the pre Serp, or, if properly sorted / maintained are they as good as each other, etc. etc.
Your thoughts / opinions concerning the attributes of each would be appreciated

I have an early 1994 preserp , it has a T5 gearbox. I thought all 500's were T5 gearboxes.
The only things i dont like about preserps are :-
1.They usually dont have power steering and impossible to find.
2. When changing oil you have to be careful not to let oil pump drain as its a pain having to remove pump.Ive only had it happen once. If you do it carefully there isnt a problem.
Ive had the car 10 yrs and these are the only gripes i have,,
