Just got one of these for xmas, the instructions say the battery must be disconnected and removed from the car before it can be used, please tell me i've misread something. Thanks in advance. Happy xmas to all.

Luv Griffs, have had one in mine since I bought the Griff. Just plug it into the mains when in the garage and unplug it when I want to use it. Certainly don't disconnect the battery prior to use etc.... as you imply that would be pointless. I guess it just badly worded instructions - Happy Christmas anyway, it's a very useful item.

I've had mine connected on both the TVR and my Diesel Landrover using both the crocodile clip and hard wired in connectors. The transformer bit gets quite warm but it's recharged the TVR battery from flat and kept both in good health since I've had it.

I just ran a cable through from the boot to the battery today so I can either keep the transformer in the boot or put it on the wall and run just the cable to the car, I haven't decided which yet but I've seen both done before. It sits quite nicely on the top of the tank and I think some Velcro will hold it in place.

My charger is fixed in the boot on the left hand side above the fuel tank, tucked out of the way. There is even a place to park the three pin plug. Couldn't be better, except I always forget to plug it in!

Just imagine life without an Accumate or equivelent.
I think the little electric box is best hung up so the air gets to cool the thing down a tad whilst its operating, extends its life so to speak

I use the fag lighter socket on my Griff with the Accumate. Nice and easy. Just make sure if you do the same that the connection into the socket with the jack plug is a good one. I failed to do this once and the battery went flat. All I do is twiddle the plug into the socket until I see the correct lights on the Accumate.
