Giffith in Italia
Discussion
While visiting La Festa Della Moto Inglese this July I spotted this Griff. The owner was Italian but the car displayed UK plates, owner said this was allowed over there!!
Just thought this might be of interest to any previous owners if any in the UK.
We were on route to the South on motorbikes and were staying with a friend in Castino. The Festival (Nothing But British) was on so we joined in with the eating and drinking.

Well that's a result then, glad it was of interest.
You see the meat wagon parked nearby, well he had to back up a tad and then proceeded to open the rear doors. Shortly after the Giff owner decided to start up his car. Now I don't speak the lingo but I don't think the ambulance guys were very happy and what sounded like a heated conversation went on.

Hi Alex,
Thread update.
I was talking to the Italian owner of the Griffith outside the Restaurante Da Maria, Zanco IT last July during the Clubs Festa rideout.
Recently I received an email from him and in the message he says that since Jan 2019 Italians can no longer drive around with UK plates
on their British vehicles unless they have a UK residence and he is now working on the problem.
Bye
Lance

A very dear, sadly Late friend, an Italian gentleman, moved back to Italy in 1981, taking his English registered car with him. He drove it in Italy on its UK plates, with no problems. I found a buyer for it and the car came back to Blighty in 2015. All of his other cars were LHD Italian registered.
