Starting Problems

My Griff happily opens the door and lets me in when I press the key fob but will not start unless I use the manual immobilisor key thing. Can any one tell me if this is this just a blown fuze (if so which one?)or should I go to a dealer?? Thanks very much for your help.

The immobiliser times out in about 20 seconds. It could be timing out, in which case just press the fob while the key is in the ignition.

What I do is open the door and then start it right away before getting in.

Also I have heard of problems using the remote fob when parked near fire stations and some petrol stations...

Good luck and take care out there...this is not ideal weather for the Griff!

Thanks for the advice. I too normally start the car before I get in, but both of my sets of keys won't start the car without inserting the immobiliser key as well. I have tried pressing the "blipper" several times with no effect.

I originally had this on my car. Fernhurst traced it to a broken wire between the alarm unit and the immobiliser unit. Has worked fine ever since.
