Inner wing heat sheilds

Hi,and Happy New Year everyone, an old topic but can anyone recommend where to obtain new heat sheild material please.
Also, can they be bought preformed or is it off the roll, if off the roll how do you finish the edges neatly, just fold back?
Finally, has anyone succesfully replaced the sheilds without removing the manifolds, access is restricted I know but I have no leaks at the moment so am reluctant to remove them if at all possible. I have an early pre-cat, I remember reading that some cars had the inner wings modified to help prevent wing burn,I don't know if mine is modified or not, how can I tell?

heat sheid can be bought from demon theives etc, but it comes from a company called www.agriemach.com fold the edges back for trimming
the manifolds HAVE to come off i'm afraid
the inner wings can be cut to increase the distance and therefore radiated heat, if you look at your manifolds (r/h bank from the front) there will be only 1 cm clearance. that is normal. if its been sculptured there will be lots!
check behind the carpet in the passenger footwell on the transmission tunnel. if there is evidence of heat damage, or if you can smell an acrid smell in the car on a long run, then the sheiding HAS to be replaced.
sculpting doesn't cost much over retrimming the heat sheilds and then its sorted permanently.

BTW precats are better then cat cars as the manifolds are shaped better, and have a greater distance

Thanks Andy, no evidence of burn damage anywhere on the tub behind the carpets etc. although I do apparently have unmodified inner wings. The shield fabric outer layer is peeling off though and looks tatty so is obviously past its best .
Will order some material today and bite the bullet regarding manifold removal which looks like a fun experience.

It is also possible to buy the Tuscan style heat sheilds from DT. TVR Power can get it, if you run in to trouble.

If you look closley in my engine bay i have fitted some highly polished s/steel over my heat shield and boy does this look the biz
