Poly bushes. Wrong size hole.

As per my previous post, had a bit of a challenge getting the holes to line up with a new set of solid suspension bushes recently. After a lot of huffing and puffing I took the part out and all was revealed. The hole in the central sleeve was only machined the correct size for about two thirds of the way, beyond that it was too narrow for the bolt to pass beyond the sholder. So the lesson is check the sleeves before fitting.

Wonder if anybody else has had the same problem with the Superflex parts ?

Don't know, but I've got a set to fit in due course, so I'll check them all out before trying to fit.

Sorry Steve .... this was another point I meant to make ... I had the same issue with superflex bushes on my S. The bolts were imperial and the sleeves were metric, according to what we could measure. It was bank holiday weekend and everywhere was closed, and as it was my only car at the time I needed to get it sorted.

Forutnately on of my parent s neighbours in darkest Norfolk was a electron microssope maker, read lathe, mill etc etc. He actually took 20 thou of all the bolts for me so they would fit, snuggly !!

I fitted Superflex bushes a few years back, they fitted perfectly around the bolt. Only problem I encountered was that the stainles sleeves for some of the bushes were about 1 mm. to long. This is not the fault of Superflex, it's the tollerance that TVR uses that's sometimes of. I had them al individualy machined to within 0,1 mm precise.
