Hi all.
I need to replace the exhaust flexi pipe on my Griff 500.
There appear to be a couple of options - TVR Parts list a flexible joint which I guess is the same as currently fitted and ebay have some braided stainless joints listed - assuming the diameter is correct.
I guess that both types need to be welded on and not clamped.
Has anyone got any advice on which is best or any other options out there?
Many thanks Andy

Those lips look like they will catch a speed ramp,i got some Flexi from the original exhaust manufacturers JP Exhausts 01625619916.I think they make the Exhausts for ACT.
Only aggressive ones. The only one they have caught so far was on the way into phazed's country estate a few weeks back .You could try TorqueTechnique.co.uk at Salisbury, he bought in the correct flexi to repair my Griff and he may be prepared to sell you some if he has any left.

I agree about the lips on the braided flexi - they do stick out a lot.
And the reason I need to change mine is that it finally cracked after being grounded so many times - I think that if it had got the 2 big flanges it would have been ripped off years ago.
I'll see if I can get hold of the original spiral stuff.
Many thanks Andy

I have an ACT exhaust and it has the spiral type flexi, which is pretty low profie. It may be worth contacting Tim to see what he could sort out. He sorted some custom down pipes for my S3 when I blew a hole in them.
yes the 4.0's had no flexi. Absolute b****d to get them to fit again!

Hi there
Thought I'd update my post as it may help someone else.
I found a company on ebay called - Every Exhaust Part - based in Redditch and was tempted to order a flexi joint and do the repair myself.
I spoke to the guy at the company who told me that they repair exhausts as well as selling parts so decided it was easier to let them do the whole lot.
Was tempted to go for a braided hose but was worried about it being too fat and grounding even more than previously.
In the end I went for stainless wound pipe as per the original - exactly the same OD as the pipes.
Top job for £80 all in.
System is on the car and fits like a glove
Highly recommended - http://everyexhaustpart.com/index.html
