boot release not working

Gentlemen,
I have a problem with my 4.0 Griff boot release not working. It's normally 1st time reliable but now it doesn't want to know.
Another problem is that 'The Bible' is trapped in the boot
I know it's a question that's been asked before but for obvious reasons, the responses aren't posted publicly, I'd really appreciate an e-mail offering any help in how to get it released.

When it happened to me it was a relay that needed replacing.It could be that or a duff connection.
