Top ball joint info please
Discussion
I am trying to remove the top front wishbone but one of the bolts that attach it to the ball joint is seized in place. Any tricks to getting it out ? If not I guess I will have to split the ball joint and drill it out. Anybody know what the ball joint is from, is it a Ford Sierra part as implied in the Steve’s book ?
Thanks for any info.

Thanks for replies, have ordered a pair from a TVR dealer at £19 each. Which I guess is about twice the price of the origonal part, but the dealer has to make a living and as you say hopefully it will fit.
Not always the case with TVR. I bought discs from the dealer about five years ago, a mate of mine with the same car bought his "direct" from Ford and he paid twice as much... but £19 is cheap for any car, well done.
funnily enough I've just managed to acquire a load of the genuine tvr upper ball joints (the small ended versions) if anyone's still struggling. I'll even beat the 19 pound price
mail me your story and if I think you're worthy I'll sell you one .. otherwise I'll keep them for myself! lmao.

Joolz, aside of this....if the modified meet happens, what are the chances of getting a griff or (cough cough) chim out on the track with nitrons, so can really see how good they are?
You'd really have to ask the owner of a chim or griff that one. I don't do many of them and don't know any owners well enough to ask them if a third party could drive their pride and joy on track.
you're welcome to try any car I have at the time, but it probably won't be a chim or griff ...
This is from my Chim, but the top ball joint is a Saab 900 part. And the lower one is from a Lada! As for getting it out, insert the ball joint splitter to put some pressure on the nut. Then with plenty of WD40, slowly try to undo the nut. For every full turn on the nut take a quater turn back to clear the thred.
